Rivet, a leading data-driven creative agency, has installed a new leadership team and made a series of new hires to strengthen its capacity to deliver highly effective data, technology and 1:1 creative ideas for a wide range of clients.

President Andrea Cook, charged with integrating and evolving Rivet’s conventional and specialized marketing communications, has made two major additions to the agency’s executive team.

Ian Mackenzie, a distinguished and motivational creative leader, has been hired as executive creative director (ECD) and Kim Farwell, an acclaimed data and tech-savvy planner, joins Rivet as senior vice president of strategy.

Mackenzie in this new role will work closely with Todd Henwood, VP, creative director, to oversee and vitalize Rivet’s creative processes. An acclaimed copywriter, Ian has won numerous national and international awards for creativity and effectiveness, and previously served as ECD at KBS in Toronto.

“With a passion for data and brand building, Ian is an ideal addition to the leadership team,” says Cook. “His creativity and experience fusing together creativity, data and technology for leading brands will allow Rivet to develop even more effective marketing solutions for our clients.”

An important and powerful addition to the agency team, Farwell is the right kind of strategic leader to partner with the agency’s clients. With a keen aptitude for technology, she is proficient in building robust, scalable marketing and sales technology solutions.

Farwell has an impressive background with American Express that involved leadership positions in the UK, Australia, and Hong Kong. She has also held consulting and agency roles focused on business-to-business, technology and the financial sector.

“Kim’s approach to strategy supports the agency’s focus on data, ideas and business results,” says Cook. “With a deep passion for data, experience in analytics, a huge technology bench, and the ability to tell a brand story, Kim will be able to skillfully guide our team and provide clients with a competitive advantage.”

Mackenzie and Farwell complement a new, energized leadership team at Rivet as well as a string of 20 additional new hires over the past few months that has seen the agency nearly double in size.

Notably, these new hires include:

  • Jacob Ciesielski, VP, data and technology
  • Vicki Waschkowski, VP, group account director
  • Krystle Mullin, associate creative director

“Attracting thought leaders in creativity, strategy, as well as data and technology is a coup d’état in this industry,” adds Cook. “It illustrates why Rivet’s data-driven creative approach is attracting new business and driving ROI for existing clients. The leadership team and its new supporting lineup are smartly positioning Rivet and its clients for future growth and development.”

Presently, there are 57 employees at Rivet. The new hires at Rivet have been fostered by growth, culture shift and the evolution of the team under Cook’s new vision.
